Supermodels

The Super Models, directed by Roger Ross Williams and Larissa Bills, follows the lives of four incredible women and their illustrious careers. It starts with Academy Award-winning director, Williams transporting us back to the ‘80s. According to a statement issued by the streaming platform, “this is the ultimate story of power and how four women came together to claim it, paving the way for those to follow”. The show is set to feature exclusive interviews by the magnetic powerhouses themselves. 

There’s no one better than these four women to give us an inside scoop into the archetypal fashion scene at the time and the bond they shared through all the glitz and glamour. We get to dive headfirst into the ‘90s, the highest point of their careers—a time when models were taller, hair was bigger, and the fashion was exemplar. 

The four supermodels continue to be at the forefront of culture, thanks to their philanthropic work, activism, and financial dexterity. All women seem to be anticipating the around-the-corner release with statements from Evangelista about “finally having the opportunity to tell our story in collaboration with the brilliant team at Imagine, and under the direction of Barbara Kopple, is as exciting for us as we hope it will be for viewers. I would love for people to see this as a celebration of not only our individual stories but also to the power of friendship, dreams, and perseverance.”

Crawford adds, “We plan to explore the dynamic personalities, and shifts in media and culture that helped shape and define this iconic era.” And Turlington, gramming her excitement with the caption, “I am looking forward to looking back on this unprecedented time in fashion with these incredible women whom I have grown up with. “The Supermodels” coming to @AppleTV.”

The series is set to premiere on AppleTV+ on September 20, 2023, just in time for fashion month. So, get ready to see these women rattle the status quo and change how we see fashion and supermodels today.
