The new face of Bazaar India X World Gold Council’s campaign, Rimzim Dadu is known for her progressive designs and contemporary styles in the world of fashion and design. Her creations are avant-garde creations and entail the processes of disassembly, adaptation, and reconstruction to generate a fresh and innovative form. Much like gold, which goes through the process of refining and buffing to reveal its true beauty, Dadu has hones her art by putting in time and effort to get better at what she does.

Dadu's signature techniques include her 3D appliqué, which transforms cotton into a paper-like substance, creating crisp edges and a unique finish. She also employs hair-thin steel wire to craft structured yet fluid silhouettes, and revitalises centuries-old art of cord work from the Mughal era.

“Each creation has a story, a process of reimagining traditional crafts much like these gold earrings. It reminds me that to be the best, my work needs to show my roots in the most unconventional way,” says Dadu.

The distinctive pair of gold earrings that Rimzim is donning, reminds her of designs which mould conventional fabrics into something extraordinary.
