What is "Ambani Pink" and the best outfits to wear it

Pink is not just another colour for the Ambani family, but a statement of their sartorial signature across generations.

Harper's Bazaar India

Over the years, Indian brides have deviated from traditional red ensembles for their big day, opting for a variety of distinct hues like ivory, gold, and blue. Among them, shades of pink have been a particularly popular choice as seen at the recent Anant and Radhika Ambani wedding. For one of the ceremonies, Radhika Ambani opted for a striking pink lehenga by designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, which is now referred to as “Ambani Pink”.

“Inspired by the barfi shade of pink, called Ambani Pink, it is a signature shade adorned by the Ambani ladies, Kokilaben and Nita Ambani,” shared Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. “This fresh mithai shade has been patronised to perfection by the two magnificent Ambani ladies who have made it their own.”

The popularity of this shade was evident during the recent festivities where the Ambani women donned some truly striking shades of pink, each a testament to the craftsmanship of our country.

The outfit that made “Ambani Pink” trend was Radhika Ambani's lehenga from her Shubh Aashirwad ceremony. Merging fashion and art, the lehenga was a creative collaboration between the designer duo, stylist Rhea Kapoor, and contemporary Indian artist and sculptor Jayasri Burman. Nicknamed 'Mera waala Pink' by Radhika Ambani herself, this deeper rose shade symbolises the youthful blush and heady romance that she epitomises.

The Ambani's penchant for pink was quite evident during the recent Anant-Radhika wedding festivities. Nita Ambani donned a custom Falguni Shane Peacock lehenga for the sangeet ceremony, in a vibrant rani pink hue. Another standout look was the outfit she wore for the wedding—a custom Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla hand-embroidered Zardozi ghagra with a jali-embroidered blouse, all in pink. Shloka Mehta, too embraced striking hues of pink with custom Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla ensembles for the Jaimala and baraat ceremonies, while Isha Ambani opted for a pastel ‘Rangkat’ ghagra for the baraat procession.
