“Best believe I'm still bejeweled
When I walk in the room
I can still make the whole place shimmer.”
There couldn’t be a better way to describe Taylor Swift’s looks during her Eras Tour, than the lyrics of her song, Bejewelled. The ongoing Eras Tour, which started on March 17 in Glendale, Arizona and will go on until August 9, is Swift’s sixth headlining concert tour. The American singer and songwriter hasn’t been on tour for over three years owing to the pandemic and personal reasons, and we’re beyond excited to have her back on centre stage. On this tour, she will perform her albums 'Lover', 'Fearless', 'Evermore', 'Reputation', 'Speak Now', 'Red', 'Folklore', '1989', 'Debut', and her latest, 'Midnights'.
On Friday, Swift took to Instagram to post a series of photographs taken during her rehearsal and captioned it: “In my Eras era.” She’s not wrong one bit. Known for the extravagant production value, set changes, and immersive experience, more than 40 songs are on the setlist that spans her 17-years-long career from Love Story to Anti-Hero and each era comes with its wardrobe change—we’d like front-row tickets, please.
The concert opens with a song from her 2020 album, 'Lover' during which she wore a jaw-dropping, custom Versace bodysuit that was embellished in pink, purple, and bright silver jewels with knee-high Louboutin boots. We love.
The Fearless era was defined by a custom Roberto Cavalli fringed, sparkly golden mini dress. And watching her sing Love Story (Taylor’s version, of course) was as soul satisfying as it could get. On night 2, the singer wore a variation of the dress, but looked just as stunning.
It would be hard to forget Swift’s bold, dark and beautiful Reputation Era, that caught the attention of audiences across the globe. Paying ode to the ‘new Taylor,’ (The Old Taylor is dead remember?), Swift wore another Roberto Cavalli-designed, custom, black and red asymmetrical silhouette outfit. She definitely looked to kill.
Our favourite moment, however, was during the Speak Now set, where Swift walked across the stage in a custom Zuhair Murad gown. She wore a pink tulle ball gown, with a starburst bodice and a cross strap back as she sang the album’s famous song, Enchanted. The ball gown was crafted in over 350 hours of atelier handwork, and embellished with crystals and sequins.
Just like the album, her Folklore set of the concert exuded simplicity and beauty, and was extremely fairy-tale-esque. This wardrobe change included a chic, cotton purple dress designed by Alberta Ferretti. On the second night she switched up the colours to a soothing white.
The 1989 leg of the concert was a Roberto Cavalli designed sparkly, two-piece maroon outfits. She switched up the colours to green on the second night of the concert.
Finally, Swift ended the concert with her Midnights album, beginning with the song, Lavender Haze, during which she stunned a sequinned mini dress with a purple Oscar De La Renta coat.
