Inspired by the legendary Jane Birkin, bag charms are set to be the hottest trend of Summer 2024. Originally introduced as a personal touch by Birkin, the trend of personalising your bag with unique accessories has got on official name: 'Birkin-fying'. 

Perfect for summer, charm-adorned handbags are taking over social media and city streets. This playful trend invites everyone to join in—just add your favourite charms, keychains, or ornaments to make your handbag uniquely yours. Ribbons, stuffed animals, beads, pearls, old necklaces, and funky straps can transform even the simplest bags into quirky creations.

The trend began last October when Miuccia Prada introduced gold chains and preppy lanyards at the Miu Miu show. Balenciaga soon followed with a chaotic mix of keys, carabiners, and locks, while Coach added oversized ornaments to their bags, blending high fashion with personal customisation.
