New OTT releases to stream this September

The month features much-anticipated titles such Ananya Panday’s web series debut ‘Call Me Bae’, ‘Emily in Paris: Season 4 Part Two’, ‘Agatha All Along’, and more.

The cliffhanger that Emily in Paris: Season 4, Part One left audiences at has made sure that we have a lot to look forward to this month with the second part set to stream on September 12. But if you thought that’s the only new show that we’ve got our eye on, think again. There’s Ananya Panday making her web series debut in Call Me Bae in what seems like a role tailor-made for her, a murder mystery called The Perfect Couple that’s sure to leave us at the edge of our seats, and much more. 

The Perfect Couple

Fans of the murder mystery genre are in for a treat this month as Susane Bier, the show runner who gave us The Night Manager and The Undoing presents The Perfect Couple, a six-episode adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand's acclaimed novel. The official logline for the limited series is as follows: Amelia Sacks (Eve Hewson) is about to marry into one of the wealthiest families on Nantucket. Her disapproving future mother-in-law, famous novelist Greer Garrison Winbury (Nicole Kidman), has spared no expense in planning what promises to be the premiere wedding of the season—until a body turns up on the beach. As secrets come to light, the stage is set for a real-life investigation that feels plucked from the pages of one of Greer’s novels. Suddenly, everyone is a suspect. The show also stars Liev Schreiber and Ishaan Khatter.

Call Me Bae

We’ve heard countless tales on the rags-to-riches trope. September is when we get to see the reverse as a heiress becomes a hustler, with Ananya Panday making her web series debut in Call Me Bae. Spanning eight episodes, the series revolves around the life of Bae (Panday) who lives in the lap of luxury in New Delhi. She gets a taste of what life without those riches can be when her family disowns, her with she having to live hand-to-mouth after shifting to Mumbai. Despite the initial struggles and obstacles, Bae goes on to overcome her hurdles with her wit and humour in a remarkable transformation.

Emily in Paris: Season 4 Part Two

September 12 promises to be a pivotal day for Emily in Paris fans as Netflix releases the highly anticipated conclusion of Season 4. After the dramatic cliffhanger involving Camille, viewers are eager to discover the fate of Emily and Gabriel’s relationship, whether Alfie will return, and what new twists await. With fresh characters, unexpected plot developments, and stunning locations, this season is set to deliver a captivating and unforgettable finale. Whether Emily will find lasting love in Paris or face new heartbreak, one thing is clear—this finale will keep fans on the edge of their seats.

Agatha All Along

The offering is a miniseries that’s a spinoff of WandaVision with a focus on Kathryn Hahn's character, Agatha Harkness. The story starts after the events of WandaVision, which saw Harkness defeated by Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen. Devoid of her powers, we see her live her life as Agnes in Westview. What follows is the goth teen helping the witch break free from a spell before seeking her help to take on the legendary Witches’ Road—a path if survived rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Also starring the likes of Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, Debra Jo Rupp, Patti LuPone, and Aubrey Plaza, the show is set to premiere on on September 18, with its first two episodes, with the other seven episodes releasing weekly until November 6.

A Very Royal Scandal

A Very Royal Scandal follows the action of Maitlis and Prince Andrew in the lead-up to the interview with BBC Newsnight in 2019, the ground-breaking event itself and the many questions left in its wake that would change their lives forever. The official synopsis for the series reads as follows: “One night. One hour. One interview that sent shockwaves around the globe. Based on the real-life 2019 interview between Emily Maitlis and Prince Andrew over the scandalous accusations he faced regarding his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein and Virginia Giuffre.”
