New OTT releases to stream this November

The long weekend kicks off early this week, with everyone preparing for Diwali. But if you’d rather sit back, relax, and watch a new web series, November has you covered from day one. The line-up begins with Mithya: The Dark Chapter, which releases today sure to captivate audiences. Next up is Citadel: Honey Bunny—arguably the most anticipated release this month—starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha. And not forgetting Dune: Prophecy featuring the captivating Tabu. As far as international titles go, audiences will get to see Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldana together in the French crime comedy movie Emilia Pérez, a documentary on the life of Formula One legend Ayrton Senna.

Mithya: The Dark Chapter 

The new season of the show takes a darker and more dangerous turn as the rivalry between half-sisters Juhi (Huma Qureshi) and Rhea (Avantika Dassani) intensifies. Juhi faces an accusation of plagiarism from a mysterious writer, which adds a new layer of tension. To make things even more interesting, the show is all set to introduce a new character (Naveen Kasturia) who’s sure to add a layer of intrigue to the already twisted plot. As hidden family secrets emerge and Rhea's jealousy escalates, both sisters find themselves ensnared in a web of manipulation, betrayal, and revenge. The series delves into the theme of "blood versus blood," pushing family bonds to their limits. In their quest to undermine each other, both women engage in ruthless tactics of deceit and treachery, crossing every moral boundary.

Citadel: Honey Bunny 

Citadel: Honey Bunny has a riveting narrative that fuses the pulse-pounding elements of a gritty spy action thriller with the heartwarming allure of a love story, all set against the vibrant tapestry of the '90s. Honey Bunny is the Indian series within the Citadel universe. The upcoming show features Bollywood stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead along with Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Saqib Saleem, Sikandar Kher, and Soham Majumdar making for a powerful supporting cast.

Bank Under Siege 

According to the streaming giant, the show transports us back to Barcelona on May 23, 1981, three months after the attempted coup d'état at the Congress of Deputies. Eleven hooded men storm the Central Bank headquarters in Barcelona. What begins as a stunning heist quickly escalates into a true test of Spain's fragile democracy. The robbers hold over 200 hostages, threatening to kill them unless the government agrees to free Colonel Tejero and three others involved in the 23F incident. Emilia Pérez 

Emilia Pérez is a French crime comedy movie featuring a power-packed cast that includes Selena Gomez, Zoe Saldana, Adriana Paz, Karla Sofia Gascon, Edgar Ramirez, and Mark Ivanir. The story revolves around an unappreciated lawyer who is enlisted by a daunting gang leader, Pérez. The synopsis reads as follows: “Rita (played by Zoe Saldana), an underrated lawyer working for a large law firm more interested in getting criminals out of jail than bringing them to justice, is hired by the leader of a criminal organisation.” The twist in the tale arises when Emilia wants Rita to help fake their own death and undergo gender reassignment operations so that the former can finally live authentically as her true self.

Dune: Prophecy     

The series is set 10,000 years before the events of Dune, and is based on the novel Sisterhood of Dune. The show follows the Harkonnen sisters as they, according to the official synopsis, "combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit."  

The stakes rise with the inclusion of Indian superstar Tabu, whose iconic screen presence promises to add a new layer of depth to this desert epic. Prepare for a sweeping saga filled with power struggles, profound betrayal, and the relentless quest for destiny within the captivating Dune universe. As the battle for spice dominance intensifies, expect rich character development and breathtaking visuals that fully immerse you in this intricate world. The first season features six episodes, with new releases every Sunday.

Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale

On November 18, dive into the extraordinary life of Nayanthara. A Man on the Inside

Created by Schur and loosely based on the 2020 documentary The Mole Agent, the eight-episode comedy series stars Ted Danson. When the adult child of one of the residents reports his mom’s jewellery missing, Charles (Danson) volunteers to help a private detective by going undercover at the Pacific View Retirement Residence in San Francisco. Posing as a new resident, he goes deep undercover at a senior living community, building heart-warming new friendships and a stronger bond with his daughter along the way.

Senna

Get ready for Senna, an upcoming limited series about the greatest Brazilian Formula 1 driver of all time: Ayrton Senna, who died in a racing accident 30 years ago. The six-episode series will showcase Senna’s journey of triumphs, disappointments, joys, and sorrows, unveiling his personality and personal relationships. It begins with the start of the three-time Formula 1 champion’s motor racing career, when he moves to England to compete in Formula Ford, and continues to his fatal accident in Imola, Italy, during the San Marino Grand Prix.
