New OTT releases to stream this October

The month will see the famous Bollywood Wives in a new avatar with 'Fabulous Lives v/s Bollywood Wives', followed by other titles such as the Ananya Panday starrer ‘CTRL’, and 'Woman of the Hour' featuring Anna Kendrick amongst others.

Having said goodbye to Emily as the fourth season of Emily in Paris came to an end last month, audiences might be wondering what’s new to watch in October. Worry not, there’s a lot in store. Having loved Ananya Panday seize and slay the day in Call Me Bae, one will get to see the actor once again, this time in CTRL. If that wasn’t enough, we’ve got the fantastic four wives of Bollywood with Fabulous Lives v/s Bollywood Wives. So sit back and get ready to dig into that tub of popcorn. 

CTRL

CTRL is a cutting-edge thriller that will make you rethink your dependency on technology. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, and produced by Saffron and Andolan Films, CTRL stars Ananya Panday as Nella Awasthi and Vihaan Samat as Joe Mascarenhas, a romantic couple who create content together and are loved by their Internet audience. But when he cheats on her, she turns to an AI app to erase him from her life—until it takes control. In a world where data is power, how much sharing is too much? How much of your life are you willing to share, and do you slowly lose control in the process?

The Tribe

The Tribe explores the journeys of five glamorous and affluent content creators: Alanna Panday, Alaviaa Jaaferi, Srushti Porey, Aryaana Gandhi, and Alfia Jafry along with digital evangelist and investor Hardik Zaveri. It offers a glimpse behind the curtain into the lavish lives of these five individuals who leave their families and comfort zones behind to move to Los Angeles in pursuit of their social media careers. While fame and success may appear just a post away, their journey is one that’s anything but simple.

Lonely Planet

Starring Laura Dern as Katherine Loewe and Liam Hemsworth as Owen Brophy in the lead, the show is about a novelist (Dern) who attends a writer’s retreat in Morroco. Newly single and looking to overcome her writer’s block, she meets a young man, with their relationship developing from being strangers to two individuals ending up in a life-changing affair. With time, the two realise that neither person is what they thought they were.

Woman of the Hour

Woman of the Hour is the stranger-than-fiction story of an aspiring actor in 1970s Los Angeles and a serial killer in the midst of a years-long murder spree whose lives intersect when they’re cast on an episode of The Dating Game, the popular 1970s blind-dating game show in 1978. Rodney Alcala was a serial killer and sex offender who wins a date with Cheryl Bradshaw. The upcoming series is the story of that date, with Anna Kendrick playing the eligible bachelorette Bradshaw and making her directorial debut while Daniel Zovatto plays the serial killer.
