New OTT releases to stream this July

From the highly-anticipated ‘Mirzapur’ to ‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’, ‘Cobra Kai’, and more, here's everything to binge-watch this month.

A new month means a fresh batch of streaming content. And after the highs of Bridgerton, The Boys, and House of The Dragon, rest assured there is much to look forward to in July. OTT favourite, Mirzapur is set to return with a brand new season on July 5, but it’s not the only show that has got us excited. From Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F to Cobra Kai season 6 and more, here are some of the highly-anticipated offerings in July that we can’t wait to binge-watch. 

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F


Gen Z may not know how good the Beverly Hills Cop series is or that such a series exists. But they are about to get a taste of it this month. In the fourth installment of the franchise, the first in over 20 years, Eddie Murphy reprises his role, returning to action after his daughter's life is threatened. What follows is a series of unexpected events, where he teams up with her ex-boyfriend and some long-lost friends, only to find themselves entangled in a major conspiracy.

Release date: July 3 on Netflix

Space Cadet


Emma Roberts and Tom Hopper team up in this upcoming rom-com centred around Tiffany (Roberts), who dreams of becoming an astronaut. As per the official synopsis, “Tiffany “Rex” Simpson (Emma Roberts) has always dreamed of going to space, and with a “doctored” application she gets into NASA’s ultra-competitive astronaut training programme.”

Release date: July 4 on Amazon Prime Video

Mirzapur Season 3


One of India's most popular crime thriller web series, Mirzapur is back with all its crime, family drama, and blood. The show features a star-studded cast including Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Rasika Dugal, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, and Vijay Varma. According to Amazon Prime, “The reign of the Tripathis in Purvanchal is over. Guddu (Ali Fazal) and Golu (Shweta Tripathi Sharma) are pitted against a new contender as they stake their claim to the throne.” In Mirzapur, revenge runs deeper than blood. There is only one title—the King of Mirzapur—but many takers and we can’t wait to see who claims the throne.

Tyler Perry's Divorce in the Black


This upcoming film, starring Meagan Good, Cory Hardrict, and Debbi Morgan, explores the darker sides of betrayal and love. According to IMDb, “Ava, a young bank professional, is devastated when her husband abandons their marriage. She's determined to fight until fate intervenes, revealing the wicked deeds that once upon a time sabotaged Ava's destiny to connect with her soulmate.” 

Release date: July 11 on Amazon Prime Video

Cobra Kai season 6 part 1


All good things come to an end and the popular Netflix series, Cobra Kai is no exception. The series kicks off its sixth and final season with 15 episodes making it the series’ largest season yet. These will be divided into three parts with five episodes each. While part one will be released this month, parts two and three will be released in November this year and February 2025, respectively. This structure aims to provide an immersive experience as the showdown between Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai culminates at the prestigious Sekai Taikai karate championship.

Release date: July 18 on Netflix
