BLUSH

Blush is having a major moment this year, with a focus on bold, flushed cheeks (and noses). The social media trend of ‘boyfriend blush’ is all about the natural, sun-kissed flush, with a healthy, youthful glow. Make-up artist Sonam Chandna Sagar says, “While there is a fine line between overly blushed and sunburnt look, if the blush is constructed in sheer layers, one can definitely achieve a ‘straight out of yoga class’ glow.”

SPIDERY LASHES

Word on the street is that spidery lashes are crawling their way back into our beauty routines. As the name implies, this trend involves layering multiple coats of mascara on your upper and lower lashes to create a bold, chunky, and spiky look akin to spider legs. According to make-up artist Sonam, while the term may sound eerie, spidery lashes can give a charming, doll-like effect when applied skillfully. “Think baby lashes that appear more singular and less feathery, going out in the direction like rays of the sun and you have immediate face-lifting illusion,” she explains.

RED LIPS

Beauty trends ebb and flow, but red lips are forever. With countless shades, finishes, and undertones to choose from, there’s a perfect option for everyone. Puneet says, “Choose a red that brightens—as a general rule, look for reds that match your own skin undertone. When deciding upon wearing a red lipstick, it’s best to first do your base make-up and then wear the chosen red before doing the rest of the face. It helps give you a perspective on how much you want to continue to add on the rest of the face, and help achieve a balance that will make the red lips the star of the make-up”. She reminds us to hydrate our lips when prepping so that a matte lipstick can go on seamlessly when applied.
