Harper's Bazaar India

Whether you’re a sports fan or not, right now people across the globe have their eyes on the Paris 2024 Olympics. We’ve watched India’s podium finishes, Simone Biles becoming the most decorated gymnast ever, and so many more moments that will go down in history. However, something else has caught our attention as well—the fact that so many beauty brands are taking the stage at the Paris Games.

Be it the athletes’ personal routines, the products they are endorsing, or even brands that are sponsors at the Olympics, beauty seems to be a big aspect and everyone is talking about it. It makes sense, doesn’t it? Considering the beauty market is overflowing with options, if there was anyone’s word to trust, it would be the Olympians. This cult-favourite K-beauty brand has officially achieved ‘Olympic’ status. It is favoured by one of the most decorated gymnasts ever—Simone Biles. In a GRWM TikTok, the gold medalist admitted that she is allergic to most products and can only use Laneige, Charlotte Tilbury, and NYX. In a recent interview, her make-up artist opened up about how much Biles loves the feather-light formula of Laneige’s Lip Glow Balm.

Fenty Beauty

Riri’s cosmetic empire—Fenty Beauty is a premium partner of the Olympic and Paralympic games. Reportedly, the brand is all set to gift make-up kits that include their best-selling products like foundation, lip gloss, and setting powder to 600 volunteers who are awarding medals to the athletes. This collaboration is the blend of sport and beauty we didn’t know we needed.

Olay partnered with Team USA at the Olympics to make their new launch—Cleansing Melts—their official face wash. The brand sought out Olympians like track stars Sha’Carri Richardson and Athing Mu, soccer player Rose Lavelle, climber Natalia Grossman, and gymnast Laurie Hernandez to introduce the product. It will also be provided to athletes as part of their welcome kits.

Dermalogica

While sunscreen is a mandate for everyone, athletes need it more than ever considering the hours of training they put in under the sun. Cashing in on this fact, Dermalogica collaborated with track and field Olympian Dalilah Muhammad along with Kristen Nuss and Taryn Kloth from beach volleyball to endorse the brand’s Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 50 sunscreen. They all made a series of ‘Get Ready With Me Videos’ featuring the product. We should all trust the Olympians since this is one of the most brilliantly formulated sunscreens on the market right now.

Charlotte Tilbury

Unsurprisingly, Charlotte Tilbury has earned a stamp of approval from various Olympians. For instance, as we mentioned above, it was revealed in a recent interview that gymnast Simone Biles uses the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray to ensure her make-up stays put throughout her routines. Jordan Chiles is another gymnast who uses the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Serum with Vitamin C regularly for its moisturising properties as part of her nightly skincare routine.
