The result is a mesmerising, ethereal look that celebrates natural beauty with sophistication.

INSPIRED BY A DESSERT

The iconic Dévotion Eau de Parfum Intense by Dolce & Gabbana marks an evolution in its original fragrance while preserving the qualities of the original, Devotion EDP. The new scent boasts a richer, more intense experience. “After a delightful lunch with Dolce&Gabbana at the Martini Bar in Milan, where we enjoyed a classic Italian dessert—Panettone—this treat became the inspiration for Devotion EDP. This created a distinctive fragrance, notable for Dolce & Gabbana’s first foray into gourmand scents, characterised by its luminous and bright quality without being excessively sweet,” says Oliver Cresp, French perfumer, on the inspiration behind the new scent. He says that in crafting the fragrance, balance was key. “Hazelnut was selected for its warm, enveloping aroma, which offers a sophisticated twist to the opening notes. This ingredient, with its subtle almond-like nuances, complements the delicate, luminous, ethereal orange blossom absolute, adding a layer of richness and depth. Madagascar vanilla was chosen for its opulence and sensuality, creating a harmonious blend that respects the essence of the original while presenting a more intense interpretation. The vanilla used comes from Bourbon region and, besides being highly trendy, it is very expensive and refined, thus enhancing the prestige of the fragrance.” Italian culture deeply influenced this creation. “The integration of these elements into the fragrance pays homage to the country’s love for exquisite flavours and craftsmanship, adding a layer of authenticity and connection to the Italian essence that is a hallmark of Dolce & Gabbana,” says Cresp. A recurring motif in the design is the Sacred Heart, symbolising devotion and passion. The fragrance is also designed to resonate emotionally. “I want it to be a scent that evokes a feeling of elegance and sophistication, yet remains accessible and inviting. My goal is for the perfume to resonate emotionally, offering a sensory journey that reflects both the intensity and the subtlety of devotion,” expresses Cresp. If Devotion EDP can bring a sense of comfort, delight, and personal connection to those who wear it, it will have fulfilled its purpose beautifully, he concludes.
