There are perhaps few cities in the world as beautiful as Jaipur. Often referred to as the “Pink City”, it’s a vibrant and colourful bustling metropolis, deeply rooted in history and culture. From the immaculately designed Hava Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, and Jal Mahal, to Jantar Mantar (an astronomical observation station) and expansive forts like Amber Fort, there is a lot to see in the city.

Amid these architectural marvels, sitting on the outskirts of the city is The Oberoi Rajvilas. The property echoes the opulence of the city, giving their patrons a slice of the regal lifestyle of the Rajasthani rulers. Sprawling over 32 acres of lush greenery, flowering trees, and majestic fountains, it’s the perfect escape—and that’s exactly why Twinkle Khanna a.k.a. Mrs. Funnybones chose to spend a rejuvenating weekend here with her sister, Rinke Khanna. Their agenda? To relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect. And so they did.

The sisters spent their time unwinding in the luxurious surroundings of the resort, immersing themselves in the rich flavours of Rajasthani cuisine, and of course indulging in some retail therapy. The renowned author, talk show host, and Bollywood personality shared her experience on Instagram—perfectly encapsulating her majestic getaway in a reel. Lounging by the pool, birdwatching around the property, eating hearty meals featuring traditional recipes like gatte ki sabzi, and shopping at The PDKF Store (because who can resist a pair of their patchwork pants?) were only some of the activities they indulged in.

Built in a traditional Rajasthani fort style, the hotel is filled with grand architectural follies and marble elephants with raised trunks. Come dusk, its areas are lined with candles casting an enigmatic, welcoming golden glow. The fortress walls have a limestone finish that imitates Jaipur’s Old City. Beautifully landscaped gardens, traditional architecture, flaming mashaal torches, and reflection pools are only some of the thrilling visuals in store. It is a verdant haven teeming with over 40 species of birdlife. The dawn and dusk chorus here, sounding much like an ornithologist's dream, is something you’ve never heard before. Parrots, doves, Great Indian Bustards, and cuckoos fly against the backdrop of the golden hour while peacocks rule eternally, strutting proudly, and blending seamlessly with the overall grandeur of the place.

The Khanna sisters strolled leisurely through the lush gardens of the vast property, where the purple Jacaranda and deep orange and yellow Gulmohar trees stand against the contrasting hues of flaming red bottlebrush trees. Rows of beautiful amla trees create arched pathways that merge with the green lawns. Jasmine and raat ki rani scent the air in the early evenings. All the rooms and villas serve up modern Indian luxury while offering garden views and a sense of yesteryear.

The Oberoi Rajvilas has an array of accommodations fusing elements of traditional Rajasthani architecture with contemporary luxury including premier rooms, villas, and luxury tents, some with private gardens and pools. In addition to this, there are 32 acres of lush gardens, blossoming trees, and cascading fountains. The rooms lay dotted around the estate, in terracotta clusters, between trees, and down immaculately preened pathways. An 18th-century Shiva temple and a restored haveli also rest on the grounds. The extensively renovated and restored haveli is home to the Oberoi Spa offering holistic and Ayurvedic relaxation therapies.

Living that is inspired by the era of Maharajas, restaurants serving authentic Rajasthani and international cuisines, specially curated experiences, and the world-renowned sincere Oberoi hospitality offer the perfect setting for an unforgettable getaway with your soulmate—be it your sister, best friend, or partner.
