Celebrating handloom in India—here are 12 looks you need in your wardrobe
This National Handloom Day, we pay tribute to some of the Indian designers who are supporting the artisans of our country.
India is a country of weavers. Across its length and breadth, sit artisans who ensure our culture is carried forward, draped in its own brilliance. With the growing number of textiles and weaves in India, it’s hard to not feel an immense appreciation for the art that exists in fashion. Today, on National Handloom Day—first celebrated in 2015—we honour the self-sufficiency that was reinstated during the Swadeshi movement. And while we appreciate the skilled hands behind the craft, we also pay tribute to the Indian designers who are ensuring these sustain the test of time.
Here are 10 looks from Indian designers we are loving on National Handloom Day.
