A-listers have access to the best brands around, not to mention fragrance houses that are more than happy to concoct a bespoke blend, which means we're likely to unearth some hidden gems in their collections. An organic (read: unpaid) celebrity endorsement can do wondrous things to a brand; ever since Taylor Swift was said to wear Tom Ford Santal Blush, we have it on good authority that the label can barely keep it in stock. Recently, a viral clip from the MTV Music Video Awards saw the drag performer Xunami Muse asking Swift what her perfume was, to which she responded, "It's Tom Ford". "I think that's the more important thing (when it comes to fragrance)." An ode to the heady fruit notes of cognac—and a nod to founder Kilian Hennessy's family business—the gourmand fragrance blends warm vanilla and cinnamon spice over a smooth base of sandalwood, making for a truly intoxicating trail. "I'd always know where she'd been in the hotel or where she was in the vicinity because I always smelt her before I saw her. I think it smells different on everyone." "I'm not one for perfumes, they often give me a headache," she tells Bazaar, which is why a roll-on or balm is a great alternative as it sits closer to the skin. They also often smell gentler than their spray-on counterparts. "I prefer the fig from Diptyque and that's the only kind of scent I use." (Although, no doubt she wears her own Fenty Eau de Parfum now, too.) Combining fresh mandarin and blackberry with a comforting musk base, the fragrance was created to capture the glamour of Hollywood in a bottle—think Marilyn Monroe drinking cocktails at the Beverly Hills Hotel in her heyday. It lingers all night long." We don't blame her, as the distinctively dreamy feminine fragrance lends itself perfectly to a signature scent. "I love it because it's really fresh and citrusy, but not sharp or heavy," she said. "It reminds me of fresh laundry. People know I love it so much that every Christmas I get gifted the matching candle." Kate Bosworth Kate Bosworth is a loyal fan of the Swedish fragrance house Byredo and the celebrated Gypsy Water is her signature scent. In conversation with Into the Gloss, she said: "The scents are beautiful and complex and sexy and innocent. There are such incredible layers to what he does. It's light and fresh and is one of two of her 'signature' scents, which she revealed on her past blog The TIG. For evening occasions she cited her love of the Bulgari Blv II perfume. "I don't have a signature scent as such, but I prefer masculine scents like sandalwood—Eva from the Italian perfumer Santa Maria Novella is a favourite. I tend to adopt a new perfume when I take on a new role. For instance Bal à Versailles by Jean Desprez was referred to in Twilight, a movie I did with Paul Newman, so I wore that when filming."
